About Me

Carol Harper

HGDipP, MHGI, MAO

I’ve been a complementary health practitioner for over 20 years since graduating from the McTimoney School of Chiropractic. It was there that I learned that each person has innate self-healing abilities.  Tension held in the musculo-skeletal system can be released by gentle realignment and healing can take place. These methods are embraced by the Association of Osteomyology, of which I am a member.

Over the years, I noticed that an increasing number of patients attending my clinic were also suffering from depression. Exploring this link and learning about the epidemic of stress that afflicts modern society, led me to qualify in stress relieving massage.  Still more curious, and wanting to help people reach their full potential, I became a life coach and expanded this with an NLP practitioner qualification. Science now proves the mind/body links and physical symptoms are often caused by emotional distress. My desire to work with a scientifically based method that sits well with a creative, intuitive approach, led me to become a Human Givens practitioner.  I am currently working towards an MA in HG psychotherapy.

I believe also that ancient wisdom has much to teach, particularly the healing traditions of Hawaii where the philosophy and practice taught by Dr Serge King combines ancient and contemporary positive psychology.  I’ve been fortunate to make two visits to Hawaii to learn this mind/body approach.

On a more personal note, I’ve lived in different parts of the UK and Canada and have raised four children, all now pretty much grown up.  I’ve recently moved here to the edge of Dartmoor and enjoy walking the hills and woods with my chocolate Labrador, Mac!

I love my work because there’s always something more to learn.  My varied experience and broad range of therapeutic tools allow me to facilitate your well-being in a way that’s as unique as you are.
