“And remember always that you’re unique. And all that you have to do is let people see that you are”.
Milton H. Erickson
Knowledge and understanding are the keys to recovery. Understanding ourselves and the unique place we occupy in our relationships with others and the world around us is vital to our well-being.
Until very recently science and medicine sought to reduce everything to its smallest parts, as though those individual bits could exist on their own. In medicine, the separation of mind from body has had damaging effects. Pharmaceutical intervention is often the first, rather than the last, resort to alleviate symptoms and psychological states are diagnosed according to an unreliable medical model.
Holistic medicine looks at the bigger picture. The environment in which we live and work, relationships we engage in, the lives we lead, all produce stresses and strains which can become intolerable. Looking at all these together – the bio-psychosocial aspects of living – helps us take a different view.
My approach incorporates my skills and experience gained from over 20 years in practice: holistic, physical bodywork (Osteomyology), and psychological therapy from the needs and resources basis of Human Givens. Recognising the benefits the natural environment brings, my philosophy also embraces Eco-psychology. All interventions are tailored to your personal requirements which can be discussed as soon as you’re ready to contact me.
